Revitaxa®

Information

Indications for use (instruction): Revitaxa®

Hyaluronic acid is a natural physiological structural element of the human body. Hyaluronic acid binds water and forms a viscoelastic membrane-matrix on the surface of the vaginal mucosa. Thus, it forms a protective matrix on the mucosa and helps restore natural moisture and can significantly affect tissue turgor and elasticity and support the natural healing process.

Recommendations for use

Revitaxa® vaginal suppositories with hyaluronic acid are intended to moisturize the vaginal mucosa in order to reduce the symptoms of vaginal dryness:

(a) in postmenopausal women with established atrophy of the vaginal mucosa and symptoms of irritation, itching and pain during intercourse (dyspareunia)

(b) premenopausal women after recent genital surgery with a tendency to dyspareunia;

(c) in women with vaginal mucosal dystrophy due to impact of: ionizing radiation, cryoablation, chemotherapy, corticosteroids, oral contraceptives or any other medical intervention.

Vaginal suppositories with hyaluronic acid are used as an auxiliary factor in restorative procedures for atrophic and dystrophic conditions of the vaginal mucosa. To facilitate wound care after childbirth; during vaginal surgery; after cryoablation.

In case of dystrophies; in case of senile dryness; in case of estrogen deficiency due to natural menopause; as well as due to menopause caused by medical reasons, such as hysterectomy, ovariectomy; in case of long-term use of corticosteroids and oral contraceptives.

How to use

Vaginal suppositories are used once a day (in the evening) at bedtime or as advised by your doctor. The vaginal suppository should be inserted deeply into the vagina, lying on the back, with the legs slightly bent. If the suppository is too soft for insertion, it should be cooled in the refrigerator for several minutes or under running cold water without removing it from the blister. The duration of use is usually 30 days, but may be extended according to the condition and instructions of the doctor or pharmacist. For premenopausal women with recent genital surgery, the duration of use depends on the course of healing. In postmenopausal women with vaginal atrophy and dryness due to low levels of endogenous estrogen, systematic use of the product is recommended, and, depending on sexual activity, the use may be intermittent.

In persons receiving radiation, the medical product should be used in parallel with radiotherapy.
